14 Four Cafe: A Hidden Artsy Garden Cafe in Taytay, Rizal

Love is sweeter the second time around was sure true as I dined-in again in 14 Four Cafe in Taytay, Rizal. In my first try, I didn’t get the chance to experience their garden because of the rain. Paul told me we can always come back because it’s just 5 minutes away from their house. So last Saturday, after my Taytay market shopping spree, we went back.

HOW TO GO TO 14 FOUR CAFE

ME: I want to dine outside HUHUH

Around 1 PM, I texted 14 Four for a reservation at 4:30 PM in the garden area, and they replied right away. They highly recommend making reservations though walk-ins are welcome too but subject to availability. I already had an experience (my first ever attempt) that they can’t give us a table because all were reserved already. So yes, better be safe than sorry, especially if you’re coming from the city. It was also just one text away anyway. (Contact this 0999.888.0144)

The rain started pouring around 3 PM but only lasted an hour, so we pushed through. There were no cars around when we arrived, which made me giddy because I love uncrowded cafes (blogger problems). We were greeted by the waiter and ushered to our seats inside. I asked the waiter that I reserved one in the garden, but he said that the tables are already reserved earlier than mine. But God is extra loving that day because a group outside decided to leave the same time our food arrived, so the waiter transferred us. (TIP: Reserve early, a day before will be better, and asked for a specific table. For the first-timers, don’t worry, I’ll give you a glimpse of all the tables you can reserve.)

We ordered the aligue and tuyo pasta again because we loved that and tried the Monte Cristo sandwiches. This Cafe was not all just the interior and furniture because they serve good food as well. We had the whole garden to ourselves at that time, and the rain did a good job of keeping the temperature cool. I told Paul how lucky they were for they have a cafe like this near their house. And I asked for a garden too someday on our future home (haha!).

This is why I love uncrowded cafes.

14 Four Cafe showcases the designs and works of their very own owners. The Cafe is only open at weekends, and the place is a showroom of the owners’ furniture business during the weekdays. You can see their beautiful designs and products here. 14 Four Cafe is also famous for private events and photoshoots.

  • Omg the place is beautiful! I’ve been meaning to check the place out as it’s just near from where I live (10mins away) but it always gets cancelled. </3 Your photos are amazing, so clear and crisp! Oh, and btw, I nominated you for the Liebster Award: http://pepperonipia.com/2016/10/liebster-award-2016/ If you have the time, I hope you accept. 😀

  • Ang sarap niyang tambayan no? The place is so lovely and nakakaganang magkwentuhan diyan. I hope to be able to visit din one day soon. One thing the owners should do especially in the coming months and years, is to make sure the overhead decorative lanterns and others are frequently cleaned. Mas matrabaho talaga with elaborate decorations pero being a restaurant, no choice. Standard of excellence should be maintained.

    • Hi, Robert! Sobra. I will not get tired of the place. It’s actually an interesting topic on how they clean their decorations. I’ll definitely ask them about that the next time I go.

  • This is one good chill out getaway. You’re lucky to be the first few customers I must say (blogger problems..haha!) The furniture and the ambiance are both enticing. A showroom and a cafe in one, that’s a great idea, kudos to the owners for conceptualizing a cafe that’s connected to another business. 🙂

  • You’ve take really awesome photos! I’ve also been to the place twice. It’s so beautiful, and it’s so much better than most restos I find in the metro. It’s even surprising not many people from Rizal have been there.

  • The place looks so relaxing. Ang ganda mag prenup pictorial. Parang ang romantic ng ambiance, siguro dahil sa garden. Gusto ko ung sofa sa garden. What other foods have you tried. How about drink? Is the price reasonable?

    • It is famous for prenup pictorial and baptismal after parties. The sofa is really cute nga. I only tried the aligue+tuyo pasta, their pancakes and their sandwiches. They are all good and big enough for two. The prices ranges from P200 to P350 which is okay kasi for sharing naman yung food nila.

  • I love the quirkiness of this place! One of the things that really lure me to visit food spots is the ambiance and interior – and as for this one, I’m speechless. It’s so beautiful! The outdoor setup with all the lights and furniture really make it very romantic. Since Cebu is basically popping up with new restaurants every month, I hope something as cute as this comes along! 😀

  • I like the ambiance of this cafe. But it’s quite far from our place. It gives me some ideas, though, on how to make our garden or yard more attractive. I like the one with many lanterns hanging on top of the table.

  • I love the garden, it is so pretty and it’s a shame that you couldn’t go there the first time you dinned at the 14 Four Cafe. I really like places like this, where you can just chill and enjoy the nature. I bet having dinner there at sunset is quite a special experience. Do they also have small pets living inside the garden? I would expect a cat to turn up every moment and start to cuddle.

    • The sunset is the best time to go! You would see the cafe on mornings and evenings plus of course the sunset lighting!! They don’t have any pets inside but that would be a good idea.
