This year’s valentines was our first together as an official couple and we decided to celebrate it with my friends in Pampanga. This hot air balloon festival has became an automatic Valentines date for couples. One random fact about me is that I love festivals, surrounded by thousands of people celebrating the same thing.
What really happen is that we never got the chance to enter so I can’t give you information on what to witness inside. We arrived late (hashtag LateComersGang) so we got stuck in traffic going to the parking area. Good thing is that we found an empty space in the side of the road so we’re able to park and appreciate the flying balloons hence my photos.
So to learn from our epic fail-but-keribells-lang getaway, please arrive in Clark as early as you can. It’s better to wait for an hour+ than to be stuck in the road like us. We just got lucky that we got caught up in the direction of the balloon’s flight. I also learned, after reading some blogs and stalking in Instagram, that it’s better to witness it in morning than in the night. It is said that not all the hot air balloons fly in the night contrary in the morning with additional exhibitions and paragliding. Another thing, if you are rich enough to have a 6,000 pesos go and fly in it. It’s quite an experience
After witnessing the hot air balloons fly, we drove to Korea Town in Friendship Street, Clark for our consolation – samgyeopsal. We ate our feelings away and the korean food did a good job on cheering us all up. Oh, wait for me next year hot air balloons, I’m coming back! Please note that most of the restaurants are not yet open at 9am except for one. (Oh Thank you Lord for being so kind to us this day!)
It may not turned out how we planned it to be but I never regret the time I spent with these people & thank you for reading this despite that love month is over.

This is really a great event. I know people who somehow goes here religiously, like on a yearly basis. I think it’s really worth it. An activity that’s great for friends, couples and even families! I’ve always wanted to go but there are so many obstructions so I’m putting this in the bucket list!
