Hello! If you thought I’ve said goodbye to blogging again, well I still exist and wandering around. But now with a better version – different domain and already self-hosting. (woooh blogger achievement unlocked!) It took almost three months of juggling work & mastering wordpress, with travelling in between of course, and now I’m back for good.
Planning to have your own domain and self hosted blog?
I’ve been blogging with Tumblr happily and contented for 4 years. But this year, when I wanted to take blogging to the next level, I decided to self host. Self hosting means that you have your own space in a server while domain is the “.com”. Most likely companies offer a free domain for hosting services. I was supposed to contact Bluehost, WordPress.org’s endorsed hosting company, then decided last minute to just get a local company since it will be my first time and have 0 knowledge about these things. My IT friend endorsed Webspace.ph and they’ve guide me all through out.
My blog is not fully done. I still need to edit some of my Tumblr posts I migrated so there’s so much work to be done yet. It took me a long time to make this risk (money wise) but I’m happy with the outcome, it’s like stepping out of my comfort zone. I’ll miss Tumblr but WordPress is exciting that I can’t wait to learn every tricks here. (P.S. If you know WP’s SEO thing, please help me.)
In the past months that I’ve been away, I have piled up travel and food stories that I can’t wait to share. So buckle your seat belts for this one hell of a ride with me. But for now, follow me in Bloglovin?
