La Vie Parisienne, Cebu City: Wines and anything fancy

La Vie Parisienne, which means the Parisian Life, is on the top of my list of places to go in Cebu City. I’m a frustrated French girl – I adore sophistication and everything fancy, I prefer wine above any alcoholic drinks, I do bread on breakfast or any time of the day, I’m in love with macarons and romance, and I wouldn’t mind reading a book in a cafe with my tea every day. So the moment we set foot in Cebu City, I dragged my friends, even most of them are boys, to La Vie for dinner and some wine.

HOW TO GET THERE

La Vie Parisienne is located at 371 Gorordo Avenue, Lahug, Cebu City, near the big Mormon church. Cebu jeepneys have route numbers and I’m not an expert in that one. But I know Route 4M (Ayala – Lahug Route) will passed by La Vie. You can check this link. Or you can simply ride a taxi or Grab, which is the one we did.

THE PLACE

Upon entering the French compound, you’ll see La Maison Rose, a pink house French restaurant, on the left and La Vie Parisienne on the right. Funny thing is that I have this intimidating impression of this place before I went, the place can pass as a fine dining on Instagram so I really thought it was one. Nagbaon pa naman ako ng unting kaconyohan! But the truth is that it’s just a chill place, it actually felt like I’m in a food park with just a very romantic set-up. The place is outdoor, you can choose to sit in the colorful chairs in the garden area, or under the violet kingdom (I don’t know what to call this), or up in the rooftop of the bakery. Just like in food parks, you have to find your seats first and then go to the bakery or pizza place to order. So yes, an intimidating impression no more.

I forgot to buy a macaron because I’m so happy taking photos. HUHU regrets

We went inside La Vie to ask for the menu but it turned out that La Vie only offers wine, cheese and breads. (I forgot to google about this place because I’m just so eager to go) So we just ordered a wine in the Les Shanpelinos (P290). The bakery is nothing grand and big but the wine cellar next door is gorgeous. Too bad that I didn’t got the chance to take a photo because people are everywhere (don’t do this on a Sunday) and a group decided to drink their wine there and whine about their boyfriends.

Cheers to this travel!

THE FOOD

We ordered 2 pizzas in the pizza bar in the garden area to match our wine experience. I forgot how much they’ve cost but everything costs P1000. The pizza is a thumbs up. It quite small but it’s handmade and the cheese is good. The wine is great as well and a little sweet which is nice. I wonder how better the pricey wines are.

I always picture the older me will always have stock wines on her own place because she’s that kind of woman.

The group

We left around 10:30 pm and the people are still coming. They are open until the wee hours during weekends. It’s hard for me to leave this place for I didn’t get the chance to take enough photos and my French inner self simply just can’t let go. Hi La Vie Parisienne management, please bring this romantic set-up in Manila?

Outside, we cross the street and hopped on a 4I jeepney to bring us on Mango Square. Oh yes, the night is still young for us.
