Barkin’ Blends Cafe is the only dog cafe in the Philippines. This cafe is for all dog lovers out there. Well technically, I’m a dog person. I’ve been living with a dog since I remember. Memory lane registers a small me playing with Browny and Whitey (don’t judge those are famous dog names then).
It’s really just a small cafe with only 5 tables inside. They serve food- rice meals, pasta, and cupcakes range from 150 to 250 pesos. If you want to mingle with the dogs in the dog zone, an 180 pesos is required and entitled to one drink of your choice.
Limited people can go to the dog zone where you can talk or bond with your friends for 2 hours with dogs around doing whatever they want. There are rules to follow inside though and I observed that these rules are not really strictly implemented. I hope they’re strict with their rules, especially with the kids. The kids wake up sleeping dogs, carry and hug them. I don’t know what but I see stressed dogs and it’s sad.
My mom and sister are playing with the playful dog with his statement bangs (haha!) when I got inside. I sit beside them when after a minute or two this terrier is pulling my skirt. I let him until I’m surprised that he climbed into my lap and started sleeping.
I put the terrier under the bench so he can sleep more and I mingle with the other dogs. But look how he keeps coming back on my skirt! It happens like 5 times. Clingy dog.
Since I arrived at 7:30 pm, most of the dogs just want to sleep already. But some are still hyper and wants to play. I never got the chance to meet all of them and know their names. But I assure you that they are all well groomed, smell good, potty trained and well mannered. Just please let them rest if they want to rest. They’ll play with you if they want.
So people, meet Milo, my very clingy terrier. I’ll see you soon!
